Chicago Sky star Delle Donne – one of the faces of WNBA

Chicago Sky forward Elena Delle Donne is one of the most popular players in the WNBA, and is one of the faces of the league.

The three-time WNBA All-Star has already played in more regular season games this year (17) than she did all of last year (16). However, she struggled to stay on the floor in 2014 as she had a back injury then and complications from Lyme Disease.

Notably, Elle is the leading vote-getter among All-stars and a favorite for most valuable player. Her spectacular third WNBA season has been highlighted by a 45-point game, including 19-for-19 free throws against Atlanta Dream.

Delle Donne, 25, is also second in the league this season in field goal percentage (56.5) and is third in rebounds per game (9.8). She says there’s no doubt being healthy has allowed her to perform at such a high level.

The 6-foot-5 forward leads the WNBA in scoring (24.5 ppg) and free throw percentage (95.2%) and is third in blocks (2.47 bpg).¬†Impressively, she’s also third in minutes (34.3 mpg).

Of course, Delle Donne’s improvement in the game doesn’t go unnoticed by other players. In fact, Tamika Catchings, the forward of Indiana Fever, noted that the Chicago forward is quickly becoming a respected player in the league.
